Kids Up Front is proud to Partner with Ryan Getzlaf, the Calgary Hitmen and TELUS on our Getzlaf’s Gamers program, which just concluded its 6th season!
Ryan Getzlaf played for the Calgary Hitmen club from 2001-2005. Ryan was the captain of the Hitmen in the 2004-2005 season. He became the 17th Hitmen to play in the NHL (Oct 5, 2005 for Anaheim at Chicago) also the 2nd Hitmen to win the Stanley Cup (2007 with Anaheim). With all of Ryan’s success, he really believes it is his roots and the fans that supported him that helped paved the way for a successful hockey career. Giving the opportunity to children to experience the game Ryan loves so much is very true to his heart, and he hopes with this opportunity he may inspire the kids to work hard and achieve their goals.

In partnership with TELUS, the Getzlaf’s Gamers Program hosts 20 games per season. Ryan’s vision of giving back to his community and inspiring kids came true in 2008 when Kids Up Front was proud to host the 1st Getzlaf’s Gamers Suite.
The suite is hosted by Scott Lorenz, who was Ryan’s billet and friend. We offer delicious food for the kids to enjoy while watching the game, and some souvenirs of their experience including t-shirts, toques, and a letter and autographed photo from Ryan. Of course, the experience would not be the same if there was not the opportunity to cheer the Hitmen on while being featured on the Jumbotron. And who could not resist a chance to meet the Famous Farley the Fox, the Hitmen’s Mascot? When available, the kids will also have the opportunity to have autographs with some of the Calgary Hitmen who are not dressed for the game.
