24 Apr National Volunteer Week!
“IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS…..”
The Barenaked Ladies sang it best, and we can not sing it loud enough to thank our hardworking KUF Krew volunteers!
It is National Volunteer Week, and we wanted to highlight the very important role that our volunteers play in our small organization. Kids Up Front is a very small team of four staff. As such, we absolutely rely on the efforts of our volunteers to help us with our special events, our Suite Ambassador program and our fundraising efforts. We are on track to see a 43% increase in the number of suites donated to our program in 2017, representing 800 volunteer Suite Ambassador hours. Additionally, our special events and fundraisers require over 1200 volunteer hours annually. We estimate that our volunteers contribute roughly $40,000 in employment hours to our grassroots organization. This is incredibly significant as our volunteers greatly increase our capacity; we simply could not run our programs without our KUF Krew!
So, if we had a million dollars, we would give our dedicated volunteers the recognition they deserve! Thank you for braving the weather throughout our hockey season, bringing your great ideas and suggestions, being willing to get dirty at events with heavy lifting, being generous with your evenings and weekends, and most of all, sharing your passion for what we do! We appreciate the gifts that each volunteer brings to us, and the gifts that they share with thousands of deserving kids and families in our community each year!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Followed by a standing ovation…..!
At this time, we also wish to thank the Burns Memorial Fund for their generous support of our KUF Krew volunteer program. Our volunteers contribute greatly to the capacity of our small organization, and the Burns Memorial Fund provided financial support for the development of our volunteer training materials and sessions, volunteer recruitment events, and volunteer t-shirts and supplies. Thank you for recognizing the important contributions that volunteers make in organizations such as ours. We are very grateful.
